Are Open Face Helmets Safe For Riders?

There is absolutely no doubt that helmets are compulsory for the safety of the riders. Some anti-helmet people argue that accidents are actually caused because of the safety wear, which is not the right thing and there is no factual evidence of it. In fact, the chances of death in a motorcycle crash have been reduced because of the helmets and there is evidence of it available if you search the internet.
Moreover, you can simply use some common sense in order to find out whether wearing helmets is the correct option or not. If you brain is unprotected and God forbids, something hits your head, that can be the end for you. A simple thing that a helmet will do is protect your head from direct impact, thus there will be lesser chances of you getting into serious trouble.

Above that, there are numerous other benefits of wearing helmets, which can be found on the web easily. However, there can be a question of what type of helmets to wear, which is quite interesting and you will not find many answers to it.
If you take a look at an online store such as Riderwear.net, you will find out a variety of helmets. They come in different shapes, sizes and differ in characteristics. As a buyer, it can be difficult for you to decide what to choose, but if you have proper information on the helmets, you will manage to make a decision pretty quickly.

One of the helmets available for sale and quite popular among cruisers is the open face helmet. But, the question arises whether such helmets are safe. Since your face is exposed, you might end up damaging it during a crash. There are quite a few sensitive parts on your face and even the smallest of injuries can be quite costly.
First of all, if a person is unwilling to wear any safety tool, he might agree on the open face helmets because they don’t restrict the rider much like the full face ones. Therefore, it can be easily said that the open face helmets are far better than wearing nothing at all for your protection.
Furthermore, different studies show that when a rider falls from his bike, he does not go down on his face. Instead, he takes a tumble sideways, which means that the face is not at much risk and it is the head that needs more protection. Even in that case, one can say that there is no threat in wearing the open face helmets.

Some people argue that the open face helmets don’t protect the riders from harsh weather conditions. For that purpose, you can wear goggles, which will keep your eyes safe. So, this criticism is also not valid at all.
Apart from these misconceptions, one can clearly see some benefits of the open face helmets, as they allow you to enjoy the weather. The vision is clearer and the weight is also slightly lesser compared to the other helmet types, as there is nothing at the front end. Moreover, you look really cool with these helmets, especially if you own a cruise bike.

All in all, it is safe to wear any type of helmet and it is solely up to the rider to make a decision. You should go with whatever you feel the safest option is, as that will bring in the confidence in you while riding. Other than that, you should always avoid over speeding and stay in your lane in order to make things easier for everyone on the road. This way, the chances of an accident will be eliminated and you will enjoy a safe ride.

Will Marc Marquez create history in Moto GP?

With only five more races left in the 2013 Moto GP season, all eyes are now set on Honda rider Marc Marquez, who is looking to become the youngest ever champion in the history of the sport. If he manages to achieve the feat, he will break the record of American rider Freddie Spencer, who was crowned champion in 1983 and 1985. When he achieved glory for the first time in his career, he was just 21 years and 258 days old.

On the other hand, Marquez will be less than 21 years of age when the final race of the season will be held in Valencia in November. This means that he has a great chance of creating history, but will have to hold his nerves and weather the storm from some of the experienced riders like team-mate Daniel Pedrosa and Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo.

The interesting thing about this year’s championship is that all three riders in contention of winning the title are Spaniards. Apart from them Italy’s Valentino Rossi might have an outside chance, but he will need to win all of the final five races in order to win the championship. This seems highly unlikely though, as the Yamaha rider has not been in great form this year and has managed to win just one race until now. This will work out in favour of his team-mate Lorenzo, who will not have to fight for points against his own partner.

On the other hand, the Honda riders will definitely be fighting against each other in the coming rounds, as both of them have a chance to finish on top of the table. This is going to be a huge concern for Marquez and he will be required to show a lot of maturity in order to maintain his lead over his rivals. At the moment, the young Spaniard has got 253 points in the championship and the closest men behind him, Lorenzo and Pedrosa, are level at 219 each. The former of the two riders has got the momentum with him though, as he was victorious in the previous two rounds. If he continues to deliver such results, he will definitely be able to pressurize the Honda riders more.

However, Marquez seems to have everything under control, as he is not trying to be overly aggressive. He knows that the Yamahas were quicker in terms of race pace over the past couple of events, so he has settled for the runner up spot. Yamaha also has improved their accessories and all the biking stuff which you can get a lot at RiderWear. The important thing for him was to continue getting more points that his team-mate, which he has successfully managed. Interestingly, the coming races might suit the Honda riders more, which will place them in a comfortable position. However, this will also put the entire team under pressure, as they will have to support one of the riders for winning the championship.

If Pedrosa can cause some problems for his team-mate, he might get some help from the Yamaha riders as well, especially Lorenzo, who will be eager to finish ahead of Marquez in every race left. Only time will tell whether who becomes the champion this year, but if it is the Honda debutant, he will end up creating history by becoming the youngest ever to win a Moto GP title. The next couple of rounds will be extremely crucial for him and all of the Spanish fans will be hoping that he can do something special, not only this year, but in the years ahead. His focus will be entirely on 2013 though and he will not be thinking of anything else right now.

Why Are Goggles Worn By Motorcycle Riders

You must have observed numerous athletes wearing goggles no matter what sport they belong to. The obvious reason for that is the protection of their eyes, which are quite sensitive and can be damaged in case any object flies into them. Therefore, there is no use taking any risks and one should always wear safety goggles in order to prevent any damage to the eyes.

Since the goggles are normally worn by professional sportsmen, people believe that there is no use putting them on in normal circumstances. This is a completely wrong perception altogether and one should try and understand that the safety glasses are not limited to sports. They should be worn commonly by people, whose eyes are exposed to debris, flying objects, sun rays, and other radiation dangers.

If you analyse the overall situation, you will find out that the motorcycle riders are the ones most vulnerable to damaging their eyes, as they are travelling at a decent speed and any flying object can easily run into their eyes. Therefore, they need protection, which can come through safety glasses found easily on-line.

However, there are some motorcycle riders who disagree with the fact that they are at any risk, so they opt not to wear the goggles. In fact, such people don’t prefer wearing any protective gear, as they feel that it restricts them from having fun. As a result, there are numerous roadside accidents that take place on a regular basis and motorcycle riders are killed in them in thousands of numbers.

Apart from those who don’t believe in any protective gear, there are some who feel that they can protect their head and eyes with the help of a helmet. They are right to some extent, as helmets come with a visor, which works as a shield for the rider and minimizes the dangers of any serious damage to them. You can get these helmets with visors at rider wear which is a pretty famous brand for motorcycle accessories and helmets.

But, there are a few helmets, which have got no visor whatsoever, so one has to wear goggles in that case. On the other hand, the protective visor sometimes gets a lot of scratchy, so the vision is blurred for the rider at night. Due to that, the motorcyclist removes the visor and prefers riding with a clear vision. Once again, the eyes are at a danger of being damaged under such circumstances. So, the riders have to wear the goggles in this case too.

Furthermore, there can be a situation where the rider gets rid of the visor in order to enjoy the weather conditions. At that point, he forgets that things can go wrong for him, if some flying rock or insect enters his eye. This can be extremely painful and can even harm your eyesight. Therefore, the safety glasses will play an important role in this case as well.

Finally, you can also save your eyesight from harmful sun-rays if you are wearing the goggles. You will also avoid the dark circles, which can be caused because of the harsh weather and sun-rays.

It is not difficult to find out why people wear goggles. They know the importance of protecting their eyes, so that don’t take any risks at all. The racers might manage to avoid the usage of the safety glasses, as they don’t remove their visor in any case, but the common motorcyclist should never leave without them regardless of the fact that he possesses a helmet or not.

Useful Tips For Motorcycle Riders

Do you know that numerous motorcycle riders lose their lives on a daily basis in roadside crashes? It is such a big concern for so many countries and there needs to be some awareness among people, so that they can stay safe on the road and save their precious lives.

There are many ways in which you can prevent accidents while riding a motorcycle. The protective gear like helmets, gloves, body armour etc. are used to protect you if you had an accident. You can easily purchase such stuff from a trusted company like riderwear.net, but the thing you need to ensure is that you don’t get involved in an accident.

There are a lot of factors that cause an accident and if you can understand them properly, you will be able to avoid trouble easily. First of all, you need to be sure that you are technically aware of how to ride a motorcycle. Some people take this for granted and end up taking a tumble on the road, which results in serious injuries.

Hit the road only when you are fully aware of the controls of your vehicle. If you have bought a new motorcycle, you should learn what new controls it has or the different ones from the previous machine you owned. Once you are confident that there will be no confusions, you will definitely be able to stay out of trouble.

Another thing, which needs to be taken into consideration, is the fact that you should not over speed. This is one of the major factors behind accidents. Sometimes, you feel like a daredevil and try to hit the maximum speed on the highway. This is not ideal at all, as it will put your life at a risk. Even if you are excellent with the controls, someone else might make a mistake and then you will have to break hard to survive. In case you don’t have enough margin, you will end up hitting the other vehicle and that could be extremely dangerous for you.

Other than taking care of the speed, you should be aware of the signs on the road. Some of them can be slightly tricky, so you have to study them before going for a ride. If your speed is slow and you are attentive towards these signs, you will be able to stay out of trouble mostly.
Try avoiding a ride on your motorcycle when the weather conditions are extreme. For example, there is a lot of snow or rainfall, which can cause a four-wheeler to skid on a road, so you can imagine what it could do to your motorcycle. Similarly, when it is too hot, you can suffer other problems like a heat stroke, so it is better to stay inside your house or travel in a car.

All these tips can help you stay safe on the road, but even if you follow them, you have to make sure that you are fully equipped with the protective gear available at Riderwear.net. There is nothing more important than your life, so you have to be always prepared for the worst.

Moto GP 2013 - Honda vs. Yamaha

The 2013 Moto GP season was expected to be an interesting one, as it marked the return of Valentino Rossi to Yamaha, where he had won numerous championships in the past. However, things have not been easy for him, as he has been given a tough time by team-mate Jorge Lorenzo and the Honda riders as well. A total of 12 races have been completed thus far and it is quite clear that the real battle for the constructor’s championship is between Honda and Yamaha, as both teams are currently leading the points table, with the latter on top. The different between them is just 26 points, which means that the situation will remain tough until the final round of the season in Valencia. The first race of the season took place in Qatar, which gave an impression that Yamaha were going to be dominant throughout the year. Both their drivers Lorenzo and Rossi finished first and second respectively with the Honda duo way off the pace. However, this was just the result of the opening race and Honda were not going to sit back and allow their main rivals to continue winning races comfortably. The team bounced back strongly, winning the next three rounds with ease. Although Lorenzo managed to give a tough time to others in terms of low fuel runs, he lacked the speed to do the job on race day.

Just as things seemed to be slipping out of the hands of Yamaha, the Japanese team came back strongly in Italy with their second win of the season. This was not enough for them, as they carried on with the winning momentum in the next couple of rounds as well. Rossi also joined the action by winning his first race of the championship in 2013. After the race in Netherlands, things looked quite close between the top-two Japanese constructors and no one could really predict what was going to happen in the future. This was when debutant rider Marc Márquez showed the world what he was capable of achieving, as he won four consecutive events on his Honda, leaving rest of the competitors way behind in the standings. The Spanish rider could not have asked for a better start to his Moto GP career, as he is in a position to clinch his maiden title straightaway. He started back by racing the 125cc class in 2008 and struggled to make an impact in his first couple of seasons. Despite that, he did not give up and managed to win his first championship in the 125cc class in 2010. He was quite dominant that year, winning 10 out of the total 17 rounds. This gave Márquez an entry into Moto2, where he impressed one and all with a runner up position during his debut season. He followed that up with a title victory in 2012 and was given an opportunity to test Honda after the end of the 2012 Moto GP season. Since the Spaniard was so much impressive, he was given an opportunity to partner Daniel Pedrosa at Honda for the 2013 Moto GP championship. Despite that, no one could have imagined that he would be in a title winning position after the end of a dozen events. Things are not yet certain for Márquez, as he will have to be consistent throughout the remaining half of the season. During the previous round in Great Britain, Lorenzo fought his way back to the top, which means that the season is not over by any means yet.

If Yamaha can develop strongly to challenge Honda in the final six rounds of the 2013 season, things will really become interesting. It seems that both the constructor’s and drivers’ championship will be determined after the conclusion of the final race of the season in Valencia. The next few events hold a lot of importance for both the Japanese motorbike manufacturers. They are technically strong and have got highly skilled bike riders, who are normally known for their costumers about bikes and other accessories like helmets and gloves etc. Such accessories can be found at RiderWear. which will make the situation even more fascinating for the fans. It will be great for Márquez, if he manages to win for Honda in his debut Moto GP season whereas the seasoned riders will be looking to prevent him from doing so.

One special thing about this season is that all three title contenders Márquez, Pedrosa and Lorenzo are from Spain, so it will be their home race in Valencia. Regardless of which driver wins in the end, the Spanish fans will be delighted overall, as it will be a win-win situation for them. Nevertheless, one should not rule out Rossi, who is one of the greatest champions of all time. He is currently fourth in the standings and does not seem to have a chance of winning another title.

Despite that, the Italian rider has got an outside chance of spoiling the party for the Spanish trio. He will need to win almost every race from now onwards in order to achieve that feat, but only time will tell whether it is going to be a Yamaha or a Honda rider on top in the end.

On the other hand, one can also take an example of arguably the best motor racing driver in history, Michael Schumacher, who began karting at the age of four. Later, he broke almost all of the records in Formula 1, considered as the pinnacle of auto sports. However, the legendary German was in a safer sport compared to Moto GP, as he was on four wheels.

During the 1990s, there were some major crashes, which forced the authorities to take some serious action for the safety of professional racers. One of the most tragic incidents, that changed the racing world forever, was the death of Ayrton Senna, who is still remembered as one of the greatest racing professionals of all time. Since then, rider safety has become the most important factor in all forms of racing. It is mandatory for them to wear the protective gear such as specially designed open face helmets, gloves, and other accessories that minimize the chances of injuries. Unfortunately, it is still impossible to rule out the casualties 100 percent, but we have witnessed very few deaths of riders in the past couple of decades, thanks to the presence of the safety costumes and accessories.
