Just five rounds are left in 2014 MotoGP World Championship but winning a race is still a dream of Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team. In fact, this task is getting tougher and tougher with every passing weekend, as Repsol Honda Team has dominated the men in blue during most part of the season. With Marc Marquez leading the standings by winning 11 of the 12 races and his teammate Dani Pedrosa has also been able to do well. Pedrosa holds second place in the chart and won the race in Brno when Marquez had an off day.
It is feared that if Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo continues to stay behind Honda in the upcoming rounds then, Yamaha could remain winless during this season. The last that had happened was back in 2003, when Rossi was with Honda, Jorge was racing in 125cc category and Marquez was just 10 years old.
So the question here is that whether Yamaha can really beat Honda? If yes then at which circuit the pair in blue have more chances to outshine the Honda riders? The two-wheel experts Chris Vermeulen and Kevin Magee have recently shared their view on where they believe Yamaha could notch its first victory.
Aragon
Last year Marquez won the race in Aragon, whereas Lorenzo finished second and Rossi remained third.
This year Vermeulen believes that Yamaha has a good chance of nailing the bar because the long corners and slow hairpins will favour them. However, they are likely to struggle a little on the straight. Magee also has a similar view as he said that Yamaha will get hammered at the straight track but they will be able to return the favour in the corners. Therefore, the verdict is that Yamaha has a good chance of winning the race in Aragon in spite of the fact that the circuit has long straights.
Now it remains to be seen to what extent Magee and Vermeulen’s predictions will prove true. In the meantime, you can go to RiderWear’s website and avail some amazing deals on motorcycle helmets.
