Marc Marquez Says He is Feeling More Confident Than Last Year

The Circuits of the Americas in Austin, Texas will be the next battle field for MotoGP riders, as the second round of the World Championship Grand Prix will take place on the US soil. Most of the riders are pretty anxious about the next round because as the motorcycle racing season progresses it will get more intense only.

However, the current World Champion of MotoGP, Marc Marquez is having completely different feelings in contrast to most of his fellow competitors, as he recently said in his interview that he is feeling more relaxed before getting on a Grand Prix. This is a dangerous sign for his rivals, especially Valentino Rossi, who already had a tough fight with in Qatar.

The Repsol Honda Team’s young rider shared this thought while talking to MotoGP.com. The 21 year old rider also said during the interview that this year there is big difference than what he was feeling last year before going into the MotoGP circuit.

Shedding more light on his statement Marquez said that he is feeling the difference because after one year he has gained more experience and obviously, after winning the title his confidence level has also boost up. Adding to it, Marc said that last year he had few questions in his mind before going to a circuit like whether I can adapt according to the track or whether it’s going to be easy or difficult.

However, this season, last year’s experience will come handy because now he has a little idea about the circuits, said Marquez. Due to this reason, the Spaniard said he is feeling more comfortable, particularly before embarking on a MotoGP race.

During the interview, Marquez also talked about the Laureus World Breakthrough Award, which he won a few days after prevailing in the first round of MotoGP in Qatar. The Laureus World Sports Awards gave young gun of Repsol Honda Team a great opportunity to meet with some of the current and past legends of MotoGP. Marc said that winning Laureus award was one of the many significant things that he had got.

Particularly, because it was at the awards where he got to meet with the legends of the Grand Prix and it was a pleasure for him to be among them and receiving the award from them was even more incredible, said Marquez.

The two greats of MotoGP, Giacomo Agostini and Mick Doohan were also present at the Laureus awards, whose records are not that easy to beat for any rider. Still, many think that Marquez has the capability to beat their records. In spite of the hype created by such people, Marquez is not getting carried away because according to him Agostini, Doohan are the legends of the MotoGP and they had a wonderful career, so he will also look to do the same, but it ia not be possible.

For the reason that today rider’s mentality is to focus on one season only and they have no plans regarding the next seasons so each year they take action after gauging the situation, said Marc.
