Last year when Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s
star rider Valentino Rossi rode the bike in the Circuits of The Americas (COTA),
he managed to finish at sixth position, five ranks behind Marcus Marquez, who
won his first race of 2013 season. However, this year Rossi is looking to
change that as he had a terrific start in the opening race of the 2014 season.
The veteran rider started from 10th on the grid in Qatar, but soon he was able
to exceed past all the riders to have a tough fight with Marquez for the first
position. Unfortunately, Rossi missed the first spot by just 0.259 seconds and
managed to seize the second step on the podium. Nevertheless, Rossi was pretty
pleased with his performance and now he is looking to improve his position in
Austin, Texas on this weekend.
Rossi, who had a wonderful time with
legendary footballer Cafu in Brazil the other day said in his recent interview
that he is really eager to go to COTA especially after achieving
competitiveness in Qatar. Valentino said that he had a very poor race in Austin
the last time he rode in Texas, so this year he wants to assess whether he is
still competitive everywhere.
More importantly, a good result in the COTA would
mean a lot to him and his team, said Rossi while mentioning the reason behind
his keenness to race in Austin. Adding to it, the nine-time MotoGP World
Champion said that an encouraging result would also mean that the route they have
chosen is right. The Yamaha rider also said that he will try to be as
competitive as possible when he will race in the Austin circuit, but he also
like to enjoy the competition like he did in Qatar.
If you too enjoy riding then never take out
your two wheeler without wearing a protective gear and helmet, as they keep you
safe in case of a collision by reducing strong impact. So, do not waste a
single second in getting a quality motorcycle gear and helmet from RiderWear
that only keep products which offer great value for money.
On the other hand, Rossi’s partner Jorge
Lorenzo, who crashed out of the race in Qatar after leading all the riders in
the start, will be looking repeat his last year’s performance in COTA, as he
finished third in Texas during 2013 season. Lorenzo said that he will look to
give good result in the upcoming round and try to forget the past as soon as
possible.
Talking about the COTA Lorenzo said that it did not prove an easy
track for them during last year because they faced numerous difficulties when
it came to grip and adapting their bike according to the track. Eventually,
they were able to figure a way out to deal with these problems they were able
to give good result by finishing just three seconds behind the victorious rider,
said Lorenzo.
Adding to it, Lorenzo said that this year
he thinks that pace could be way better than the last year as his current bike
is more seamless and its chassis are also pretty decent. More importantly the
26 year rider said that he is feeling 100 percent fit, which is quit important
for any rider in order to compete for the first place.
