Valentino Rossi Signs New Two-Year Contract with Yamaha

Valentino Rossi made it known on Wednesday, July 2nd that he has inked a two-year contract with Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd.That will keep him with Movistar Yamaha Moto GP team for the 2015 and 2016 seasons of Moto GP World Championship. The announcement came just four days after the race in Assen, where the doctor made a serious mistake of using slick tires in wet conditions. That forced Rossi to switch his bike and as a result he ended up securing fifth place in the race.
Still the announcement did not surprise many, as Rossi had indicated during last month that soon his representative will talk over new contract with Yamaha. Moreover, the veteran rider had a great 2014 season so it a new contract was on the card. The Italian stallion took part in all the eight races during the season and managed to reach the podium in five on occasions, of which four were second positions. This enabled the seven-time world champion to gain 128 valuable points and a joint second place in the overall standings of the 2014 Moto GP World Championship.

Making the announcement Valentino said that he is pretty pleased that he had inked a new deal with Yamaha because it will allow him to spend two more years with the team in the premier class racing. The 35-year old rider admitted on this occasion that it was an important milestone for him because he truly enjoyed working with the entire team of Yamaha. That includes both European and Japanese members of the team who have worked with him almost throughout his entire career, said Rossi.

Adding to it, Valentino said that signing a new contract with Yamaha was his target because he wanted to race in the Moto GP for another two years, as he is feeling great and fully charged to give his best. On this occasion Rossi did not forget to share his love for his Yamaha bike, as he said that he is glad that he will continue to ride his YZR-M1. That has been his love for several years now and it is will remain his love during this and next two seasons.
In the end Rossi thanked everyone for their support and said that he will do his best to get in the front and have good races.

The managing director of Yamaha, Lin Jarvis said on this occasion that he is extremely glad that they have finally signed a two-year contract with Rossi. Because ever since he had returned to their team in 2013, it has been a terrific experience for all of them who are involved, said Lin. Jarvis also made a significant point at this juncture, as he said that they want to keep Rossi with them until he takes retirement from the motor sport.
