Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso Admits He Used Wrong Front Tyre in Argentina

Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati Team finished third at the Circuits of The Americas (COTA) after showing spectacular pace in the second round of the 2014 MotoGP season. Therefore, many were expecting that Dovizioso would show another solid performance to reach podium in the Termas de Rio Hondo race. Unfortunately, it never happened as both Dovizioso and his teammate Michele Pirro failed to put up a good show at Argentinean circuit finishing 9th and 17th respectively. According to Dovizioso, it was a difficult race for him and he never thought that it would be that tough for him. The Ducati rider also revealed that he was unlucky that apart from tyre he also faced an engine problem which led the oil to come out and as a result he lost some power.

Dovizioso also admitted that he choose wrong front tyre, as it did not allow him to brake and put stress on the front wheel. It does not mean at all that the 28-year old Italian rider did not make an effort to get into the leading position in Argentina. Dovizioso instantly got into action as the race in Argentina tipped off, as he was among the riders who fought to gain leading positions right in the first lap. In fact, his effort did pay off as Dovizioso gained second place when cruised past the line on lap 2. Unluckily, he failed to maintain his position, ashis front tyre started causing some problem which enabled his rivals to surpass him in the next few laps.

Despite finishing 9th in Argentina, Dovizioso still holds a strong position in overall standings of the riders, as with 34 points he sits at fourth spot. This suggests that Dovizioso still has not lost much ground and if he manages to show a better performance in Jerez on this weekend it is highly likely that he can improve his position in the standings.

On the other hand, Dovizioso’s teammate Pirro failed to find his rhythm throughout the entire race in Argentina. Now it remains to be seen how Ducati Team will perform in the upcoming round of the Grand Prix that will take place in the south of Spain on this Sunday. The Ducati Corse General Manager, Luigi Dall’Igna is still quite hopeful, as he said that they are confident and positive that they will do well in the upcoming races, but they need to do a lot of work before that.Just as RiderWear’s team put up a lot of effort to offer its customers only best motorcycle clothing and accessories at unbeatable rates.
