Valentino Rossi Says He Will Look to Give Marquez a Tough Fight in Italy

After starting fifth on the grid, Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi pushed really hard to get into the lead right at the start of the fifth round of Grand Prix World Championship. Rossi, who was taking part in his 299th premier class race make the most of the mistake committed by Repsol Honda Team Marc Marquez and led the riders for several laps. The doctor, although, was not able to maintain the lead and he failed to hold off Marquez in lap 16. Still he managed to secure second place at Le Mans in Sunday’s race. That allowed him to seize his 150th Grand Prix podium and 10th rostrum at the French circuit.

Rossi said after the race that he is very pleased with the result and race, as he did well in the competition. The Yamaha rider said that when he saw Andrea Dovizoso and StefanBradl ahead of him in the start of the race he instantly realised that he could go at a much quicker pace than them and outstrip them. Valentino also said on this occasion that he felt good about his bike. However, according to him, he had faced more problems with the front in Sunday’s race perhaps because the track was bit more hot than the previous ones.

Rossi said in spite of it, he tried his best and his speed was not bad. The experienced rider also said that he was waiting for Marquez, Jorge Lorenzo or DaniPedrosa to come close to him, particularly Marc. Therefore, when Marc arrived behind him he pushed his bike much harder to give Honda rider a tough time, said Rossi. Unfortunately, he made a mistake at a critical time when he went too deep that allowed Marc to overtake him easily, said Valentino. He said it was a pity that he gave Marquez such easy chance to outstrip him because if he would not have done that their skirmish would have been longer.
Nonetheless, the nine-time MotoGP World Champion said that he will look to give Marc a tough fight in Mugello, Italy now. Talking about his personal milestone, Rossi said that he is pleased with 150 premier class podiums because it’s a lot and now he is not too far from achieving the 200 podiums. He said that he had a long career, but he is really working hard to stay in the competition. Perhaps that is why the veteran rider had said before the race at Le Mans that he is very much interested in extending his contract with Yamaha.
Rossi has already made it to the podium thrice in the last five races. If he continues to show the same competitiveness it’s likely that alike Honda, Yamaha may also re-sign its star rider early in the season.it is not possible predict at this point in time when really such a deal will take place, but riders, on the other hand, can definitely avail RiderWear’s hot deals on motorcycle helmets, clothing, boots and security.
